Who Are We?
Verdun and Marina are projects of The Substance Abuse Foundation Inc. (SAF) which is a registered charity of Barbados. It was established in 1996 to fight the harmful impact of drugs and alcohol on the shattered lives of citizens and their families in Barbados and the wider Caribbean. The Charity was formed by a group of socially aware visionaries with a passion to provide quality mental health care especially to disadvantaged and vulnerable adults . From the start they recognised the urgent need to help individuals with appropriate professional rehabilitation; in an enabling environment that met internationally accepted standards of accommodation and treatment. What We Do?
We provide a full continuum of services dedicated to assisting individuals to recover from the physical, emotional, and spiritual devastation caused by mental health and addiction.
Who are our clients?
The clients of our treatment centres are from any and everywhere. Although most of our clients are citizens of Barbados, we have successfully provided treatment services to individuals Beyond Barbados Borders. The charitable and financial support we receive allows us to give individuals the opportunity to live sober, healthy, and happy lives.
