Admissions
The first step in the admission process is a conversation with our Admissions Co-ordinator or any member of the Clinical Team who will be available to assist you or a loved one.
This initial conversation which can lead to several discussions, will provide information to help you figure out what to do and give some answers to any troubling questions you may have.
Some of the steps involved in the process include: -
Obtaining an assessment that include a medical and psychiatric assessment/report.
Determining which treatment option and what services and or options that would be best for you.
If it is determined that residential treatment would be best for you – we will proceed to the Intake process.
Starting Treatment
Our Admissions Co-ordinator will arrange for an interview to obtain the necessary information and complete the paperwork.
The intake process for all our clients is unique to every individual and is needed to ensure we create the conditions for the best recovery strategy. Clients are involved in the process.
A team member will welcome you, show you around the facility and to your assigned dorm.
Orientation Stage
The Orientation process can take up to two weeks. During the first few days you will be monitored to ensure that you are medically stable and to help you during the adjustment period in a new environment. During this period, consent forms and additional information is gathered from you. Assessments are also conducted by the psychologist, case manager, family therapist. Medical team members will also conduct mental health and physical screenings.
If mental health services are recommended as part of your Integrated Treatment Plan, you will have access to these services through the local Psychiatric Hospital, Polyclinics, or consulting psychiatrists.
You will be assigned a Peer Guide. This person is recognised as a senior peer who will introduce you to the expectations of the unit, the schedules and to other peers.
Sometimes, after receiving the information, you may decide that you are not yet ready. This is understandable. Whenever you are ready, we will be here to assist you. In the meantime, there is a range of other outpatient and wellness clinic services that are available to help you.
